Lakeport Unified will welcome students for the 2018-19 school year – start date to be determined due to the ongoing wildfires impacting our local community – Lakeport Elementary (grades preK-3), Terrace Middle (grades 4-8), Clear Lake High (grades 9-12), Natural Continuation High (grades 9-12), Lakeport Community Day (grades 6-10), and Lakeport Alternative/Home School (grades K-12).
Our school board recently approved the Local Control Accountability Plan which was inspired by many stakeholders and established goals that focus on student achievement, a positive school climate, and parent/community engagement. Academic plans include providing coaching/mentoring and professional development to all staff, targeted interventions and tutoring for students, data supported staff teams, and providing chorus K-12. School climate plans include a district behavior coach, professional development for all staff, counselors at all schools, and additional staff for social/emotional support, including some staff dedicated for Native American students. Parent/community involvement will be enhanced by a new community partnership coordinator to make a stronger connection with our families by updating communication, providing surveys to parents, recruiting and training volunteers, connecting our local businesses, and providing education nights. Our Aeries system allows parents to monitor attendance and grades online and our communication system delivers messages by parent choice via phone, email, or text.
Our newly upgraded central kitchen and soon to be completed library/media center provided by bond funding are state-of-the-art facilities. Our high school offers Advanced Placement classes, AVID, Academic Decathlon, Career Technical Pathways, musicals, and various athletic programs. Our award-winning band program is available for grades 6-12.
