On Friday, November 22nd, sixty-four CLHS students and two staff members, Ken Hook and Bob Mayer, participated in a STOP HUNGER NOW food-packing project hosted by the United Christian Parish. Their goal was to send 11,000 pre-packaged meals to the Philippines for the hurricane victims.
Students mixed measured amounts of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and a flavoring mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals into bags that provided meals for six individuals. Thirty-six bags were then boxed and made ready for shipment. The food will be distributed through schools in the Phillippines.
